Setting Goals for the New Year
As we end our holiday break and get ready to return to 4th grade in 2012 it is a good time to think about goal setting. The students and I will be spending some time reflecting on what we have learned during the first half of the year and set goals for the second half.
One big goal we will be towards is to develop our written response skills. In everything we do for the next few months, explaining our thinking will be a key element. The students will need to answer questions like "Why?" and "How?" and be able to support their thinking.
So as we enter a new year, let's work towards building critical thinking skills and exploring the world around us. If we support each other, who knows how far we can go?
